]]> Enscape videos are MPEG-4 encoded and should be playable on Windows Media Player.
Important: Windows Media Player seems to be unable to play videos having an uneven width (not divisible by 2).
So in order to make sure your videos are compatible with Windows Media Player, choose a pre-defined capture resolution or make sure the capture width (the left value in the settings window) is divisible by 2.
“Windowed” is not recommended for this case, as it is hard to control the width of the Enscape Render Window.
We will include a workaround in v1.7.1 unless Microsoft fixes the issue.

If you encounter problems playing a video, try VLC-Player instead.

  • Choose the right material type (metal, concrete, steel, etc.) to enable the correct simulation model.
  • Adjust the glossiness, so that it resembles the materials reflectivity.
  • Set a color and bump texture to give the surface the appropriate relief and appearance.

]]> When using a monthly license, you have to connect to the internet once a month. This is necessary, to validate your license status. Once you allow Enscape to connect to the internet, you can use it one month offline, for example on your notebook.

For the yearly license, you have to connect to the internet once a year – after entering the license.

If you have a floating license, you have to be connected to the internet continuously. If the connection cannot be established, you get a watermarked output like in the expired trial version. It might be necessary to add an exception to your firewall for outbound traffic on port 80. If you need further assistance, please contact support@enscape3d.com.

]]> Beside the normal fixed-seat license, you can buy a floating license.

A fixed-seat license is limited to be used on one certain machine. In contrast, you can install the floating license on as many machines as you want. After entering the floating license key, Enscape™ needs an internet connection to start. If more Enscape windows are opened than you own floating licenses, Enscape will not open and give you a warning.

If there is no internet connection while you try to open Enscape, Enscape will start a 24 hour timeframe, counted on from the last successful validation. During this timeframe, you will be able to use Enscape as usual. If your computer still has no connection after 24 hours, or if your computer regains internet connection, but all of your seats are currently being used, Enscape will get watermarked.

This allows you to use Enscape on many computers, if you don’t work on all your Revit workstations with Enscape simultaneously.
